Portage Avenue

Portage Ave Winnipeg's Avenue of Dreams contains a collection of old and new buildings. Under near constant renewal and redevelopment its shopping role has declined as city planners and politicians struggle to find uses that will attract more people to the downtown that once was.

The New Manitoba Hydro Building

The new Manitoba Hydro building occupies a full block fronting both Portage Ave and Graham Avenue.  This view is the Graham Ave elevation.


Winnipeg's Main St at Night

Main street takes on a certain ambience at night.  Here at the south-eastern edge of the Exchange District, Winnipeg's historic banks give way to Portage and Main's skyscrapers.
